“Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it’s a feather bed.”

“The reason you are worthy is not because of anything you have or have not done. It is because you were woven together. Stitch by stitch. Detail by detail. And because your body carries a soul that extends much deeper than your skin. It is because you have the ability to think and feel and choose and love and believe. To live with intention. To soak yourself in both sunlight and rain and come to understand that you need equal portions of warmth and water to grow. How beautiful to know that we are not measured by what holds us captive but rather by what sets us free - amazing grace.”

“I like to remain slow
In a fast paced world.
Flowers and wide roads
And long conversations
And true friends.
Stillness instad of running.
Simplicity instead of excess.
Quality over quantity.
Choosing a place.
Choosing a person.
Choosing what I have now
And still deeply desire.
Knowing what I love,
And repeating that love
Again and again.”

“The real growth is when nothing has changed around you, but something has changed within you. What you see might be the same, but your vision is completely different. You are exactly as you have been, but now that person is enough. You have what you’ve always had, but you now see everything as a blessing. Frustrating situations still arise, but you find yourself not responding in the same way as before. Believe me, it is easy to think you’re growing when you’re changing everything around you. Real progress is when you start seeing the same old things in a completely new way.”

“All that really matters in life is feeling good, is being alive to your life while you have it. There is always going to be hardship, or circumstances outside of our control, or unwieldy emotions, or demands on our time and attention. But we must not wait for life to slow down to slow it all down. We must demand that it does. We must carve out little pockets of joy in our ordinary days. We must find sunshine. We must learn to rest without feeling guilt about resting. It’s so important to know what makes you feel good, to know what you must do each day to keep yourself feeling well. We must stop glamorizing neglecting our well-being as a sacrifice for more achievement, to consume more, to have more, to be insatiable. We must recognize that life is happening now whether we’re noticing it or not. And if we don’t take time out of the frantic nature of life to stop, pause, enjoy, savour, slow down - then a day becomes a week becomes a month becomes a whole life - missed. Notice your life. Be alive to it all. Stop waiting for the savouring. You’ve done enough. Enjoy it for a while.”

“Woke to a new spring
Growing louder and louder.
A morning full of light.
A sky full of birds.
A head full of dreams.
A heart full of hope.
Beyond the door,
The road beckons.
The sun will carry us”

And so Easter is almost upon us - the time of reawakening and transformation. With the arrival of spring the themes of rebirth and renewal are replicated in nature as trees burst into bud and new plants shoot up transforming the dormant earth into an animate and verdant landscape. As S.D. Gordon tells us “Easter spells out beauty, the beauty of new life.”
I shall be in Paris for the holidays and shall resume posting after my return.
I wish you all a beautiful and blessed Holy Week.
With much love

“Your kindness speaks louder than your car, your heart shines brighter than your house and your integrity matters more than your income. Your compassion outweighs your credentials, your authenticity is worth more than your address and your character surpasses any career title. The way you make others feel will be remembered long after they’ve forgotten what you wear or where you live. Your grace under pressure tells more about you than your possessions and your genuine spirit is worth more than any status symbol. Be rich in what truly counts - humanity, empathy and the courage to remain true to your values. These are the real measures of wealth that no bank can hold.”

“Every biggest decision of your life begins with uncertainty. Every extraordinary moment of courage comes after an internal struggle between wanting to turn back and knowing you must move forward. Every big leap comes right after a deep breath and the one question that only your heart can answer: “Can I really do this?” And in those moments, you will never feel ready. You will never receive all the guarantees you’re looking for. There will never be absolute certainty. And you’ll never be able to see all the obstacles on your path before you begin. You only ever have right now and a pull in your heart that can’t be ignored. There is only ever this unexplainable feeling within telling you, go this way. There is only your inner knowing guiding you forward, one small step at a time. There is only your courage, faith and enduring self-belief. But these onlys? They’re not onlys at all. They’re everything.”

“Be in the day you’re in. In the season you’re in. In the feeling you’re in. We try so hard to escape to the past, to the future, to try to plan it all out, to brace ourselves for uncertainty. We try to perfect the future in order to avoid the present. It’ll get better later. One day, I’ll be happy. One day, when I get it all right and perfect and check off the list, I’ll finally have space for my joy. But what about the day you’re in? The moment you have right now? Where have you gone? Don’t you want to be there, too? What if you’re missing the lesson, the signs, the magic of right here? Nothing in the future gives you permission to bask in joy. Nothing slows down until you slow it down. If you can’t be in today, what makes you think you’ll be fully present to tomorrow? Be in the day you’re in. What is happening for you here? Where are you being led? What is your heart saying? Don’t prolong it. Be in this day. Let that be enough. Your joy is here. Your life is here. The future is always coming but you never get this moment - this exact one - ever again. Don’t miss being alive to your days while you’re lucky enough to have them.”

“Spring.
You feel so close
Like you’re hovering.
Lingering,
Ready to burst already,
Teased by these
Brief pockets of sunshine and warmth
Sprinkled between the colder days.
I am so ready for your
Colour and movement again.
And you always come again.”

“Growth can be scary. It can be wonderful. It can be exciting. And it can be terrifying. You’re going somewhere you’ve never been before. You’re becoming a version of yourself that has never existed. This is why we resist change and growth so often. It’s stepping into the unknown. It’s trusting that there is something vital on the other side. It’s an act of faith to continue to grow and evolve. You are boldly going forward into chapters you haven’t read yet. You are writing your story as you go. There is no control. No predictability. No safety. No comfort zone. When you grow, you leap forward, trusting the next step will appear. So yes, if growth and change makes you afraid, that means you’re doing it right. You are in the darkness between where you’ve been and where you’re going. Trust it. Stumble forward. You’re courageously becoming someone you haven’t been yet.”

“May we live each day in such a way that fear itself is afraid to haunt us. May we run wildly but always towards those slivers and cracks of light that illuminate the darkness. May we cheer each other on because god only knows how much we all need it. May we never sink so low that we do not recognize our own spirit. May we choose wisdom and tenderness over careless words. Heartfelt emotion over empty gestures. Quiet giving over loud acts of charity. May we rather forgive too often than not enough. May we always strive to see beauty. Even if we must squint our eyes and tilt our heads to find it.”
